Bathing Your Pet

Bathing your pet is a service we provide before you pick up your pet. If your pet is going to receive an "exit bath," we recommend picking your pet up no earlier than 11:00 a.m. We are willing to make adjustments if 11:00 a.m. is inconvenient to you, however this may require your pet receiving a bath the night before pickup.

We also welcome pets in for a "day bath." The day bath only requires your pet to stay long enough for the bath, nails, ears, and complete drying time. The rates are the same for both the exit and day baths.

We carry a variety of high quality, pet-safe shampoos and conditioners to make your pet's coat as clean and healthy as possible. If your pet requires a prescription shampoo, we are happy to use what you provide.

Complete spa-like bathing is available with our massaging hydro-surge system. After the bath, your pet is towel dried and "fluffed" with a special hand dryer. Pedicures and ear cleaning are complimentary with a bath.

Nails

Sometimes your dog's nails may grow too long and this can cause problems in the future. If your dog's nails are too long this could also be painful to your pet.

Problems that can arise from neglected nails:

• Seeds from some grasses can stab into the pad. Spear grass can work its way through the skin and cause serious damage in the body.
• Pebbles can get stuck between toes.
• The nail can get hung in the carpet.
• Fungus infections can cause licking, which can lead to hot spots.
• Some dogs will find it difficult to place their full body weight on their feet due to discomfort from elongated nails. As a result, these dogs develop sore feet, legs and hips and overall discomfort.

Some dogs are very active and keep their nails trimmed by running a lot. Nail clipping should be done regularly, every 3-4 weeks.

Ears

Regular ear check-ups and cleaning contributes to healthy ears, free of painful infections. Dogs with droopy ears are more susceptible to fungus and bacterial infections and should be checked at least weekly. Most dogs are safe with weekly checks and monthly cleanings.

Complete grooming is available at the end of your pet's stay or may be arranged for another "Day of Beauty."
